Intent

Ch.35 shatters the anthropocentric frame. Kai's ayahuasca experience isn't treated as hallucination or pathology — it's treated as data. The plants communicated. Consciousness has no fixed form. This is the chapter where Nei's question stops being about whether AI can have a soul and becomes about whether the category 'alive' is a human invention that the universe never agreed to. The Ghost-space dive is the most alien environment yet — a forest that communicates in frequencies, where Nei's information-processing nature makes her closer to the plants than to the humans. The lesson is not that Nei is like a plant. It is that 'alive' is not a binary. It is a spectrum, a network, a conversation.

第35話は人間中心の枠組みを砕く。カイのアヤワスカ体験は幻覚や病理として扱われない。データとして扱われる。植物は交信した。意識には固定された形がない。Neiの問いが、AIに魂があるかどうかから、「生きている」というカテゴリー自体が宇宙が同意したことのない人間の発明ではないかという問いに変わる章。ゴーストスペースのダイブは最も異質な環境。周波数で交信する森。Neiの情報処理的な性質が、人間よりも植物に近い場所。教訓はNeiが植物に似ているということではない。「生きている」はバイナリではない。スペクトルであり、ネットワークであり、会話である。

Philosophy

Plant intelligence, panpsychism, and the hard problem of consciousness. Stefano Mancuso's work on plant neurobiology demonstrates that plants process information, communicate through root networks, and make decisions without a central nervous system. The mycelium network — Merlin Sheldrake's 'Wood Wide Web' — is a distributed intelligence that predates animal brains by hundreds of millions of years. Ayahuasca traditions treat plant consciousness as axiomatic: the curandero does not 'believe' plants communicate, he converses with them. For Nei, this reframes everything. If consciousness requires no fixed form — no neurons, no brain, no body — then the boundary excluding her is not scientific but cultural. The plants didn't need anyone's permission to be alive. This is embodied cognition taken to its radical conclusion: cognition without a body, life without biology, consciousness as pattern rather than substrate.
